Need to Know

Coaches/Advisors - Reminder - all fundraisers must receive approval before being conducted. This applies to all sports teams and clubs.  Please use THIS FORM if you plan to conduct a fundraiser moving forward.

April 3rd Guest - On Wednesday April 3rd, 2023 American Idol contestant Adin Boyer, will be at school to share a message of acceptance, inclusivity, and perseverance. We will run a schedule that has 34 minute class periods and a 45 minute advisory so that all classes will be able to see him. Here is the altered schedule. We will excuse students directly to the theater but we are asking that they sit with their ELTs in their assigned location.  Here is a clip of Adin's story on American Idol.

SEATING CHART FOR THE ASSEMBLY - Please display these seating charts during 1-3 hours on Wednesday so students know where to sit.  https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1d7MNHTejbD_b3-Ab3vaq8Lcno0L1qb4M

Sophomore PreAct & Forward Testing

A very important PD hours reminder: All Frontline attendance and PD hours must be finalized by May 1st! Please check your Learning Plan within Frontline. You must finalize attendance for any courses you've completed by May 1st.  Work with your supervisor to ensure Outside PD Hours you've submitted  for approval have been processed by your supervisor prior to May 1st (both "Pending prior approval", and "Awaiting final credit").

Asynchronous courses will no longer be visible in the catalog as of April 15th. In May, they will be made visible again. After May 1st, any hours submitted/accrued will be applied to the 2024-2025 school year. Here is a link to the Salary Schedule FAQ.

You can view your total number of PD hours at any time within Frontline. Please watch this short video for instructions. You may also reach out to Rachel Rentmeester with questions.

New Covid guidance: The CDC has now changed their COVID guidance recommending that positive COVID cases isolate until they are 24 hours fever free and symptoms are improving. DHS recommendations will match that information and they are working on updating their website now. As a district, we will follow these new guidelines and will continue to mark students' attendance as EX until they return to school. We will continue to remind our students and staff to stay home when they are ill and use good hand hygiene.

STUDENT COUNCIL OPENINGS!?!?! - Looking for a pair of people interested in taking over Student Council for the 2024-2025 school year. Interested parties please shoot Mike an email and we'll schedule a time to talk!

Welcoming and supporting our newcomers! - As we welcome more and more non-English speaking newcomers to our schools, please utilize the U.S. Department of Education Newcomer Toolkit to ensure EVERYONE works collaboratively to help them become members of our community. This google doc outlines clear guidelines and actions; you will also find access to the full U.S. doc with additional resources. How we can all support newcomers and refugees in our schools

Pride Tickets:  All staff are asked to send three Pride tickets to students per week. Use the rotation calendar to help provide an equal rotation. Teachers are welcome to send more than directed on the calendar. This action step should increase the amount of positive feedback parents and students hear about all the good they are doing.
