Staffing Update: We will be conducting interviews this week for our open Math, English, and Special Education openings. You will see an additional posting this week for a science teacher at the high school. This posting is an additional add to our science department for next year. For the veterans in the building - when Mr. Heeren retired we did not refill that position because our numbers had dropped. The numbers have now rebounded and we will be hiring a 1.0 Science position in response. Lastly, you will see a district posting for a social worker. Congratulations to Erin Jacobson, who has been named the district's new Mental Health Navigator. The position is grant funded and will move Erin into a position that will serve more students across our whole district. We're sad to see her leave her current role but know she will be great in this new role!
PD Hours - Pd Hours must be submitted by May 15th. Remember if engaging in PD that is not on the district website you must submit a pre-approval submission before you participate in the PD and then submit the completion form once you have finished the PD. Please include any documentation in the final submission.
Cancelling a Lamers Bus Trip -Bus trips cannot be cancelled on the bus trip booking site. Please contact Lamers directly 715-298-6100 and verbally cancel the trip. Lamers opens at 5:30a.m. Monday through Friday. If a bus is dispatched to the field trip pickup site, you will be charged for the full trip.
Wellness Day May 3rd - Wellness Day will be May 3rd in the afternoon only. More to come.
Update from the desk of the School Nurse: Hello! I just wanted to send out a friendly reminder that it is District Policy that we do not have air fresheners/diffusers in school, including any office that a student may enter. Per policy PO5330: “Plug-ins, diffusers, and other scented products should not be used in school”.
These can be serious triggers to both students and staff related to headaches/migraines, asthma symptoms or other respiratory issues. I have had a few students/parents reach out to me regarding their student being triggered by these things in different areas of the school and it is impacting their ability to actively participate in class and learn. We want to have a comfortable learning environment for our students and while some of us find fragrances relaxing/soothing for others it is a trigger that creates symptoms that impacts their whole day.
Narcan: It was mentioned it might be useful for staff to know that the school stocks Narcan in the event of an opioid overdose. There is a dose in the health office and in the front office for trained staff to use in an overdose event (health office staff and admin staff are trained). This is an FYI, and you should still utilize 9999 in the event of an unconscious student/emergency.
There is also an after hours go bag in the front office (where the Narcan is kept) that has a stock epi pen, face shield, gauze and extra bandages.
Please reach out to me with any questions! Emily Beck BSN, RN (extension 4223)

Lamers Bus Invoices - Lamers appears to be caught up on their invoicing! Please contact Tracy Blaser if you have any trips that have taken place that you do not have invoices for. She will request them right away from Lamers so the bills can be paid with this school year's budget. Just a side note – please double check the dollar amount of the invoice you are entering so that the payment matches the invoice.
