December Youth Apprentice - Juliana Thao (Senior), 2nd Year Youth Apprentice, Marshfield Medical Center, Health & Hospitality Pathways

Key Club partnered with Kiwanis club, the Salvation Army, and a local insurance company towards their work with the angel giving tree. Key Club was able to shop for 15 kids in need through the partnership.

Thank you to all who helped one way or another to make the December student food delivery to our students so successful!  Todd and Erin again deserve a huge pat on the back for their efforts in organizing, transporting, and packing of the food!

Thank you Dallas and Karry for a great holiday faculty meeting.  The food, games, and prizes were so awesome.  What a great way for all to come together and have a lot of fun.

Congratulations Claire Juneau for being the VFW Voice of Democracy contest winner!

Announcements/Week Ahead
Rose Bowl Watching - The Rose Bowl Parade will be on TV beginning at 10 AM.  Our band is scheduled to be the #22 group right behind the Rose Bowl Parade President. They are the 6th band in the parade.

Here is a viewing guide about how to stream the parade during the day:

If you have a personal streaming password and would be willing - please bring it with you and get your classroom TV set up using your personal login.  If you would like to team up with a neighboring class and move your students there that would work fine as well.  We will announce over the loud speaker when the band is coming up and I would encourage you to tune in for a few minutes to watch the parade at that time.  Thank you for helping to celebrate our band!

New Senior High SRO - We are pleased to announce our new SRO at the Senior High. Officer Josh English joined the Everest Metro Police Department a year and a half ago after a 20 year career serving our country in the military. Officer Josh is eager to join our DC Everest team and is passionate about both serving our community and doing what is best for students and staff. When not patrolling, he is dad to four and enjoys volunteering in the community as a coach, ref, and fan of DCE (his wife is a graduate). His start day as SRO is Jan. 2 with onboarding for two weeks at the SH with Officer Abby and Sully.  Officer Abby and Sully will return to the MS beginning Jan. 16th.  HUGE thank you to Officer Abby for serving at the Senior High School for the last month and a half.  We are sad to see her go back to the Middle School!

Mandatory Senior Meeting -  There will be a mandatory senior meeting on Thursday, January 5th during ELT for a presentation and to receive a packet of information regarding ordering graduation caps, gowns, tassels, etc.  It is very important all seniors, even early graduates, join in this meeting.  Please make calls to your early graduates if you think it is needed.  All senior ELT teachers are asked to escort your kids to the Theater and sit with them for supervision purposes.  Here is the seating chart link.
