Announcements/Week Ahead
Scheduling Update - Meetings with Department Chairs and Curriculum Coordinators will be happening this week to begin the conversation about sections and class sizes for the 22-23 school year. This is a fluid process. It is always our goal to be transparent about the conversations. Please let Jeff See or Mike know if you have any questions.
Junior ACT Testing Tuesday, March 8th - All test supervisors (ACT Teacher Testing Schedule 2022) should pick up your testing materials starting at 7 a.m. in the 3rd floor conference room. There will be a few reminders then you will have to count and verify the number and serial numbers of test booklets and writing booklets by signing the Test Administration Form on page 1. The time schedule is linked here: ACT Time Schedule 3/8/22. You will also receive this when picking up your test materials.
Test supervisors are asked to join the juniors in the auditorium at 7:28 a.m. for a brief meeting. Proctors should stay back supervising the test materials and getting ready to help admit your students. (pgs 20-23 in the Administration Manual for standard time testing and pgs 27-30 for accommodations)
Also, some have not signed the confidentiality form that must be signed before the test begins. Please see Dawn Seehafer Monday to sign one. Thank you.
ACT Testing Rosters - Please make sure you tell your Junior ELT students where they will be testing on Tuesday. If you did not received a roster of who will be in your testing room, please see Dawn for a copy. All but proctors and subs should have received this last week. If a student is unaware of the room they will be testing in, have them check with Dawn in the front office Monday or Rm 369 on Tuesday.
3rd Quarter Grading Timeline - Quarter 3 grades are due 4:00 pm on Friday, March 25th. Friday, March 18 is a full day grading day for teachers. Please ensure all grades are completed by the deadline.
Please review the following information links so you can advise students accordingly:
- Sophomore CareerFest Schedule HERE. All sophomores will eat lunch during 5th hour.
- Sophomores report to the Auditorium immediately following 5th lunch and sit in designated ELT Homeroom Seating Assignments. See map HERE. Rose will cover expectations, chaperones will take attendance, and busses will leave school by 12:05.
- A listing of Chaperone/Bus/ELT Assignments can be found HERE.
- Students will return to school at 1:50 and report to 10th hour and ELT.
- CareerFest Resources to share with Sophomores so they can plan:

- About 60 sophomores still need to turn in their Parent Permission form for this event. The final deadline to turn in this form is end of day on Monday, March 7th.
- Sophomores not attending the CareerFest are expected to be in school attending regular scheduled classes and lunch hour.
Our Community Grows - Thanks to Kelly Thompson for her updates about the growth of our community. Here is some information:
- ECDC Updates: 71 Afghan Refugees in Wausau to-date; expanding to Portage County. 19 cases (12 families and 5 single). 2 Families recently placed in Stevens Point.
- 107 additional individuals to come yet this quarter with another 110 individuals approved by ECDC; this brings our area approved for 217 individuals by September 30 of 2022.
- ECDC has hired an Employment Case Manager and Housing Case Manager to assist individuals, as well as creation of a “Family Self Sufficiency Plan '' to ensure all families/individuals are consistently supported.
