D.C. Everest Senior High School Staff Update
Announcements/Week Ahead
Parent-Teacher Conferences - Parents received a letter via email or mail last Friday/Saturday with a specific per family link and instructions to schedule a 10-minute conference (via in-person, WebEx or phone call) with their student's teacher(s) either Thursday, February 16th or Monday, February 20th sometime between 3-6pm. Parent signup will begin at 8am on Monday, February 6th and continue until 24 hours prior to conference date. If parents have any problems, please refer them to Dawn Seehafer. Teachers will receive a link to see/print their schedules soon.
The 23-24 Course Registration process begins on Friday Feb. 10th during ELT, in the auditorium. 10th and 11th grade ELT's have been assigned a date to attend the 23-24 course registration presentation in the auditorium. Please check the date your ELT is assigned on the document below and communicate this to your ELT in advance. The assigned date for your ELT is mandatory. Please inform students they should report directly to the auditorium, bring a charged iPad, and sit in their designated areas (signs will posted). We ask that attendance is taken once students are seated and to help pass out the course registration materials in the auditorium. If a student is absent on their assigned date, instruct them to attend one of the other presentation dates.
All staff will receive a hard copy of the updated 23-24 Course and Career Handbook and extra copies of the handouts for students. We will need to enlist the help of ELT teachers a few other times during the scheduling process. Stay tuned for more directions.
Feb. 17 - The District director team worked this week to assign rooms at the Senior High for our Feb. 17 Professional Development day based on the size of each participant group. We are beyond excited to host a number of great presenters while providing a wide array of topics for our staff to choose from. As a reminder, all teachers and identified support staff should select 3 total sessions beyond the keynotes that are offered. Please reach out if you have questions or concerns.
After Hour Building Room Reservations - There has been some misunderstanding using Book king. Book king is a great tool to look at for reserving areas in the school, making custodial aware of people entering the building, adjustments for cleaning, and now snow/ice maintenance. You cannot make your own reservation but you can see if the area you are looking at after 3:30pm on weekdays and all day on weekends is open. See below
Save the date - DCE is once again partnering with Wausau School District to host a Child, Student, & Family Disability Resource Fair - previously named Transition Talks. This year’s event will be held at Wausau West High School on February 25, 2023 (a Saturday) from 10:00-2:00. Linked here is the Save the Date flyer
Donated Paper - The district received a large donation of colored paper in sizes: 11x17, 8.5x14 and 8.5x11 in different weights. Anyone needing colored paper should see Dawn Seehafer. She has a binder of the different colors and sizes available.
