Professional Development Day

Our next PD Day is scheduled for 2/18. Here is the plan for the day:
  • The plan for this day has evolved (notably) based on staff feedback. Once scheduled as a full-day event, staff now are expected to participate in a minimum of one session, as little as 60-90 minutes.
  • The focus continues to be self-care, resilience and burnout prevention. While it would be fair to say that giving “time” helps manage stress, it also never gets at some of the root challenges. To that end, this day is focused on encouraging staff to take an active role managing the challenges we face today.
  • There is a great deal of flexibility within this schedule. If groups meet for some portion of the day on things not included on the formal schedule, this is A-OK/encouraged, but at those teams’ discretion.
  • The options may prove beneficial/valuable for all categories of employee. If support staff members not scheduled to work were interested in attending, they would be welcome to, but it would not be an added, paid work day.
Here is the flier with times and options.
